The other day, I was having coffee with some friends who are looking into building new homes to retire to. I was doing my best to convince them to hire a builder with a LEEDs certification because of how good green construction is for the environment. Surprisingly, they were not very interested. They thought that energy efficient homes, built with recycled materials would be like roughing it in a tent. They kept telling me that they wanted to enjoy their dream homes. Then I showed them some photos of green-friendly homes and they were surprised that it wasn’t the equivalent of living in a cardboard box.
