Carpets come in various carpet styles each of which lends a particular look to suit your home’s decorative theme. Carpet varieties are often distinguished by their pile type or by the way the tops of the loops lie. These come as cut, loop or cut and loop piles. Cut piles are called such because the loops are cut at the top making yarn bundles stand tall. While this type has a luxurious look, it does not withstand crushing making it unsuitable for rooms with high traffic like the dining room and hallway. On the other hand, loop pile consists of loops of yarn that do well in high traffic areas because the pile bears the weight of the foot evenly on the surface and minimizes the appearance of footprints.
