The other day, my daughter came home from school and asked me if she could get a job. She’s sixteen, so I expected that she would become interested in working at some point. I told her that it would okay to look for a job, and asked her what brought on the sudden interest. She looked at my sheepishly, and said that she had found an ad for puppies for sale in Sydney. It all clicked into place for me then. She wants a job in order to pay for a dog, something she’s wanted for quite a while! If she takes care of it, and her job, and keeps her grades high, then I don’t really mind.
