Around the Christmas and New Year time hotels in Jaco fill up with tourists, eager to enjoy their vacation in the clubs, bars and restaurants found along the main street of Jaco town. A network of side streets intersperse, filled with interesting little shops selling all sorts of unique products, as well as art galleries to catch the eye of passing trade. Surfers are particularly prevalent in and around Jaco Beach due to the constant presence of some excellent surfing waves and there are lots of shops that support the surfing lifestyle, as well as a plethora of souvenir and clothing stores.
