My husband and I went up to Rotorua from the Hawkes Bay for a business meeting that took place after lunch yesterday. The day went on until six in the evening and when we came out of the meeting, the weather got worse and worse. A southerly was predicted but this was turning into a full blown storm. My husband said after driving only half an hour out of town that we should turn around and find a some rotorua accommodation for the night and drive back in the morning instead. I thought it was a good idea and the first motel we found, we zipped into to see what the rates were like. Turned out to be a great place and we had a hot thermal spa in our room which made the evening cozy.
