Music, fresh air, long walks in the countryside…we wanted a real getaway for our holiday this year, and the Lake District of Ireland offers it all. We stayed at a fantastic B+B in Cavan. The hosts of the Hawthorn Lodge made us immediately welcome, serving us coffee and sandwiches upon our arrival and making sure we had all we needed in our comfortable room. Then, armed with their friendly advice, it was out to explore the nearby sights and plan how we would spend the following relaxing, romantic days. Cavan has all you could wish for: shopping, great restaurants, good music and friendly people. We’re already planning to go back next season!
